About Us

Angelo Verrelli left home in Italy at the age of 17. He already had uncles in America that his father came to visit. He decided to come to America and “give it a try”. So, in 1965 he moved from the suburbs of Rome, Italy to Queens, New York.

In a year, he met Dominica who went by the name Mimi. She also was born in Italy. They soon married. Angelo drove cement trucks while Mimi worked in a grocery store. They worked hard and saved hard.

In just a few years, they saved enough money to buy a mountain resort in the Catskills. Unfortunately they were only busy in the summers. They decided to come to Florida and start a business because he felt it was busy in Florida for the winter and New York in the summer. He planned to spend 6 months in New York and 6 months in Florida. In 1978 he started a garbage company CCI Disposal. He was so happy with the business that he sold the resort in New York and devoted all of his attention to his newly found love – the garbage business.

He leaves his home and arrives at his office by 3:30am every morning Monday to Saturday. After 31 years in the garbage business, he still drives a truck even though he doesn’t need to. “I really enjoy driving my trucks. I love it. You get to see existing customers and prospective customers. I’ve always been a people person. By loving what you do and staying so involved, I always have a finger on the pulse of my business and the needs of the community.”

Central Carting started with one truck and one customer. Today Central Carting is one of the largest privately owned garbage companies in Florida. It has 24 trucks and 55 employees serving over 26,000 customers. We serve Hernando, Pasco, Sumter, Citrus, and Hillsborough counties.

When asked how the company has grown to its present size Angelo said, he believes he and “every one of his employees" treat their customers with respect, honesty, and integrity. He is proud of the fact that he has no full time sales people. The majority of 26,000 customers have come from referrals and meeting the changing needs of the community by living within the areas he serves and letting people know who you are. Offer a good price for excellent service and only raise our prices when it is absolutely necessary. Also, don’t worry about statistics and being the biggest company. We’ll leave the egos to the other companies. If you treat every customer as if it is your only customer, the rest will follow. (Presently at 26,000 customers and growing.)
